Data Retention and Privacy
Updated: May 8, 2026
Perspective Settings gives you practical controls for who can access workspace data and which external systems can interact with it. Open the workspace switcher in the sidebar and choose Manage workspace to review these settings. It does not currently expose a configurable retention-period screen, BYOK settings, SCIM provisioning, or an in-app compliance packet.
Access Controls
Use Roles and Permissions to keep workspace access tight.
- Invite only the teammates who need workspace access.
- Use Admin for teammates who need to manage members.
- Use Member for teammates who need normal workspace access without membership administration.
- Remove pending invitations that should no longer be accepted.
- Remove members who no longer need access. Perspective transfers their owned research and interview records to the workspace Owner before removing them.
External Connections
Use these Settings pages to manage external access:
- Integrations - connect, disable, or reconnect Slack, HubSpot, and Gmail workspace integrations.
- Connected Apps - revoke OAuth apps you have authorized to access your Perspective account.
- MCP Token - generate, regenerate, or delete your personal MCP token.
Disable or revoke anything that no longer needs access. Regenerating an MCP token immediately invalidates the previous token.
Participant Context and PII
Participant metadata can enter Perspective through invite context, URL parameters, embeds, Slack, and conversation content. Treat that metadata as user-provided operational data.
For collection-side controls, see:
When designing a conversation, give clear instructions about what the agent should and should not ask for. For design-time context, see Conversation Context.
Public Sharing
Published highlights and pages can expose selected research outputs outside the workspace. Review public surfaces before sharing them with a broad audience.
