HubSpot Integration
Updated: October 9, 2026
Connect HubSpot to send what participants share in Perspective conversations into HubSpot, so HubSpot stays your system of record. Completed conversations reach HubSpot as submissions to your HubSpot forms, and automations can update the participant's contact or add a note to it.
What You Can Do
- Collect your HubSpot form's data through a conversation. The Perspective assistant reads the form's fields and builds a conversation that asks for the same information.
- Submit completed conversations to your form. HubSpot creates or updates the contact by email, as it does for any form submission, so your form workflows, lists, and lead routing keep working.
- Update the participant's contact. Add a note with the conversation summary, or set contact properties from the answers.
- Update the participant's Lead on Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise.
Requirements
- A Perspective account.
- A HubSpot account with permission to install apps.
- A HubSpot marketing form with CAPTCHA turned off. HubSpot does not accept API submissions for forms that have CAPTCHA enabled.
- Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise, only if you want to update Leads.
Get Started
Set everything up in plain language with the Perspective assistant. You don't need to connect HubSpot first: the assistant asks when it needs to.
- Click New agent and choose Concierge.
- Ask the assistant to use your HubSpot form, for example: "Build a conversation from my HubSpot form."
- If HubSpot isn't connected yet, the assistant shows a Connect HubSpot card. Click Connect, choose the HubSpot account in the popup, and approve access.
- Pick the form from the list. The assistant reads the form's fields and builds a conversation that collects the same information. Required form fields stay required.
- Review the conversation, then share it with participants.
The assistant also creates an automation named Submit to HubSpot: [form name]. After each completed conversation, it submits the participant's answers to that form. To review or turn it off, open the right-side panel on the Design page, switch to Settings, and expand Automations.
HubSpot is connected per workspace, so once it's connected everyone in the workspace can use it. If your browser blocks the popup, allow popups for Perspective and try again.
If you connect a form to an existing conversation and the form expects fields the conversation does not capture, the assistant tells you and offers to add them.
Connect from Settings Instead
You can also connect HubSpot ahead of time: open the workspace switcher in the sidebar, choose Manage workspace, select Integrations, and click Connect on the HubSpot card.
Update Contacts After Each Conversation
Ask the assistant for a HubSpot automation in plain language, for example:
- "After each conversation, add the conversation summary as a note on the participant's HubSpot contact."
- "Set the contact's lead status from the participant's answers."
After each completed conversation, Perspective finds the participant's HubSpot contact by email and applies the update. The email comes from the conversation itself, or from an email parameter on the conversation link.
If no contact matches the email, or more than one contact does, the update is skipped and the automation run shows the reason.
On Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise, an automation can update the participant's most recent Lead instead of the contact. If the run reports missing Lead permissions, click Reconnect on the HubSpot card and approve the Lead permissions.
Data Shared With HubSpot
Perspective does not copy HubSpot contacts or other records into Perspective. It writes to HubSpot only when an automation you set up runs: after each completed conversation, or when you test the automation. A test sends sample data to HubSpot the same way a real run does, so test against a HubSpot test form or test contact.
Permissions
Perspective's HubSpot features use these permissions:
Disconnect HubSpot
To stop Perspective from using HubSpot, turn off the switch on the HubSpot card in Integrations. Turning it off does not revoke access in HubSpot. To remove access completely, also uninstall the app in HubSpot under Settings > Integrations > Connected apps.
Troubleshooting
- The form receives no submissions. Turn off CAPTCHA on the HubSpot form. Then open Automations in the sidebar, select the HubSpot automation, and check Previous or Active Runs for the error HubSpot returned.
- A contact update was skipped. The participant's email did not match exactly one HubSpot contact.
- Perspective reports missing permissions. Click Reconnect on the HubSpot card and approve the requested permissions.
- The connection popup did not open. Allow popups for Perspective and try again.
