Slack Integration
Updated: October 21, 2026
Connect Slack to bring Perspective into the place your team already works. Get a message in a channel every time a conversation finishes, and invite your team to conversations they can take without leaving Slack.
What You Can Do
Get notified when conversations finish
- Hear about every finished conversation. Post a message to a channel each time someone finishes a conversation, with a summary of what they shared.
- Get a daily or weekly digest. Post a roundup of recent conversations to a channel on a schedule, instead of one message per conversation.
Take conversations in Slack
- Invite a whole channel. Post a conversation invite to any channel. Each person chooses Start in Slack or Open in Browser.
- Answer in a direct message. Start in Slack opens a direct message (DM) with the Perspective AI app, and the conversation happens there. Replies appear as they're written, and suggested answers show up as buttons.
- Pick up where you left off. If someone already has a conversation in progress, the app offers Continue to go back to it, or Start Over.
- Invite on a schedule. Post the invite to a channel every day or week to keep responses coming in.
More ways to use Slack
- Link previews. Perspective conversation links shared in Slack show the conversation's title, image, and welcome message. When the conversation belongs to your connected Perspective workspace, the preview also shows Start in Slack.
- Share Insights. Post an Insight's link, with an optional note, from the Send via Slack tab of its share panel.
- Ask what Perspective does. Mention
@Perspective AIin a channel, or send the app a DM, and it replies with a short introduction. - Welcome message. When someone opens the app's Messages tab before they've ever chatted with it, the app sends a short welcome that explains what Perspective does.
Requirements
- A Perspective account.
- Permission to add apps to your Slack workspace. Some workspaces need an admin to approve new apps.
Connect Slack
Slack is connected per workspace, so once it's connected everyone in the Perspective workspace can use it.
- Open the workspace switcher in the sidebar and choose Manage workspace.
- Select Integrations.
- Click Connect on the Slack card.
- In the popup, choose your Slack workspace and click Allow.
You can also connect Slack the first time you need it:
- When you invite people. On a conversation's Invite participants page, select Send, choose Slack, and click Connect Slack.
- When you ask the Perspective assistant. Ask it to post to Slack. If Slack isn't connected yet, it shows a Connect Slack card.
If your browser blocks the popup, allow popups for Perspective and try again.
Get Notified When Conversations Finish
Ask the Perspective assistant in plain language, for example:
- "After each conversation, post a summary to #customer-research."
- "Every Monday, post a digest of last week's conversations to #product."
The assistant sets up an automation for you. You can also start one from the Automations page with New automation. To review an automation or change its channel later, open Automations in the sidebar and select it. See Automations for more.
Invite Your Team to a Conversation
- Open the conversation's Invite participants page.
- Select Send and choose Slack.
- Search for and select a channel.
- Write your message and click Post to Channel.
Each person in the channel can click Start in Slack to take the conversation in a DM with the Perspective AI app, or Open in Browser to take it on the web. Their answers show up in Perspective like any other conversation.
To post the invite on a schedule, ask the assistant, for example: "Post an invite to this conversation in #team every Monday."
Private Channels
Perspective AI can post to any public channel. To use a private channel, add the app to it first by typing this in the channel:
Then refresh the channel list in Perspective.
Disconnect or Uninstall
To stop Perspective from using Slack, turn off the switch on the Slack card in Integrations. Turning it off doesn't remove the app from Slack.
To remove access completely, uninstall Perspective AI from your Slack workspace. Slack removes the app's access right away, and Perspective shows Slack as disconnected and deletes its saved channel list. To use Slack again, click Connect on the Slack card.
Conversations already taken in Slack stay in Perspective. To ask for your data to be deleted, email privacy@getperspective.ai. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Troubleshooting
- A channel is missing from the picker. For a private channel, run
/invite @Perspective AIin it, then refresh the channel list. In a large workspace, search for the channel by name. - Perspective reports missing permissions. Click Reconnect on the Slack card and approve the requested permissions.
- Slack shows as not connected after it worked before. The app was uninstalled from Slack, or its access was removed. Click Connect on the Slack card to add it again.
- The connection popup didn't open. Allow popups for Perspective and try again.
