More natural voice conversations and more Live voices, plus an update to voice pricing

Improvements

  • Live has nine more voices, including native German, French, Hindi, Japanese, and Korean speakers. Choose one under Language & Voice in your agent's settings. Their previews play in your agent's conversation language, so you hear exactly what participants will hear.
  • Voice conversations feel more natural. The interviewer lets participants finish their answer before saying goodbye, picks up right where it left off if a call reconnects, and gives participants room when they step away to read or listen to something.
  • On voice calls, the interviewer skips asking for a name you already have for the participant. When someone spells out or corrects their name, the corrected spelling is what gets saved.
  • With Tappable replies on, participants answer closed questions like yes/no, ratings, and pick-from-list with a tap. Those questions can now be up to 500 characters, so a detailed survey item still appears as a tappable card, worded exactly as you wrote it.
  • Star rating cards now label both ends of the scale, like "Very poor" and "Excellent", so participants know which way to rate. Rating fields in new or edited outlines also spell out their range, such as 1 to 5, and what each end means, so scores are easier to compare across participants.
  • Goals, interview guidelines, and mandatory questions in your outline can span several lines or paragraphs. Useful when you want the agent to open with a scripted introduction, or ask a detailed question exactly as written.
  • When a participant gives a brief answer, even a single word, and then leaves, the conversation is marked Partial instead of Abandoned, and their answer appears in your results and summary.
  • New Slack guide: get notified when conversations finish, post daily or weekly digests, and let your team answer conversations without leaving Slack.

Pricing update

Voice conversations are now priced by call length. Each conversation still uses 10 credits, which includes the first 2 minutes of voice. Each additional minute, or part of one, uses 5 credits. Text conversations are unchanged.

If your workspace runs out of credits during a call, the call continues and the conversation unlocks once you add credits. You can track voice usage on the Voice minutes line under View usage in billing settings. See Plan and Billing and Pricing for details.
