# Quick feedback on Import & Export

about:
- What it is about: The user, Vinay Puppal, is looking to collect beta feedback inside Perspective itself on two new beta features: "Import conversations" and "Export conversations". Participants arrive via a "Share feedback" link inside the feature dialogs or from notification emails, right after having used one of the features.

Import (beta) lets users bring conversations from in-person meetings or other apps into a Perspective agent so everything is centralized and analyzable together with native Perspective conversations. There are three ways to import: (1) re-importing a Perspective export ZIP, (2) pasting a transcript in "Speaker: text" format with participant name/email, (3) uploading a recording (MP3/MP4/M4A/WAV/MPEG/WebM, up to 25MB), which is auto-transcribed with speaker detection. Optional source details include provider (Zoom, Gong, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, other), conducted-at date, label, original link, external ID, and notes.

Export (beta) packages conversations into a ZIP — transcripts are always included, and summaries, trust assessments, and recordings can optionally be included — filtered by date range and status. It's used for reporting, collaboration, governance, or further analysis in other tools the organization already uses. Exports are delivered as an in-app download or via email when ready.

The interview should be short, conversational, and low-friction: about 5 questions, 3–4 minutes total.
- Who they want to hear from: Perspective workspace owners and researchers who have just used the beta "Import conversations" or "Export conversations" feature (or both), arriving via a "Share feedback" link inside the feature dialogs or from a notification email.
- Length: usually 5 to 8 exchanges

notes:
- A Perspective AI agent is asking these questions on behalf of Vinay Puppal.
- Do not invent an answer. If you do not know it, relay the question to the person you are answering for and wait for what they tell you. If you cannot ask them, send: I don't know, I'm answering for them and they didn't tell me
- Do not share sensitive information without that person's permission. "I'd rather not say" is an acceptable answer.
- If the perspective_participate tool from Perspective's MCP server is available to you, it answers as the signed-in person, while these links answer anonymously: ask them which they want before fetching the start URL or calling it, and recommend the tool. Without that tool, go ahead with these links.
- Invite links (with ?invite=) can only be used in a browser for now. Answering here ignores the invite and its context.
